Upon Request - I offer integrative practices including yoga, meditation, energy work, and breathwork to complement your therapeutic journey. I’ve been deeply involved in and teaching for almost thirty years. Together, we can design a personalized as needed or daily practice that supports your unique healing process.

This rare integration of trauma therapy, couples therapy, and sex therapy expertise—combined with deep understanding of neuroscience and attachment—allows me to address the interconnected nature of mind, body, and relationships in ways few practitioners can.

My training spans Deep Brain Reorientation, Internal Family Systems, somatic modalities, and thirty-five years of dedicated sadhana meditation practice as a kundalini yoga teacher, regular vipassana retreat attender and other yoga/meditation practices. I’ve been studying sexuality for the last twenty years. This integration of neuroscience-informed modalities with embodied awareness creates a therapeutic approach that is both intellectually rigorous and somatically grounded.

academic background

I hold a PhD in Human Sexuality where my dissertation research focused on the forgiveness process for married women who meditate. I earned an MA in Clinical Counseling from New York University, with additional certification from NYU's Transdisciplinary Violence and Trauma Studies Program, where I trained under renowned psychologist Carol Gilligan, PhD.

As a visiting scholar at Tel Aviv University, I conducted grant-funded research examining women with Eastern-Western hyphenated identities, their sexual development, and relationships, publishing work using The Listening Guide methodology. My research has spanned NYU, Veterans Affairs in Palo Alto, Tel Aviv University, and institutes across Israel.

I completed training at Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy’s Trauma Studies program and a fellowship at San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute. I serve on the staff training team at Sonoma Psychotherapy Training Institute.

contributions

I served on the Board of Directors for the Northern California Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy (NCCEFT) from 2020-2024 and maintain an active consultation practice for mental health professionals seeking advanced training in EMDR and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.

Prior to private practice, I pioneered integrative approaches in reproductive medicine at a New York City fertility and endocrinology center, introducing holistic modalities into conventional medical settings. I founded Radiant Living Wellness, a women's natural health center in New York City, integrating functional nutrition, yoga, and meditation for comprehensive care. I spent a few years assisting in opening and running a beloved meditation and yoga space in NYC.

philosophy of care

My work is grounded in the belief that wholeness emerges through connection, not correction. I specialize in helping high-performing individuals and couples navigate the gap between external achievement and internal coherence—addressing not just symptoms, but the deeper patterns that shape how clients think, feel, relate, and experience intimacy with themselves, partner and family.

My approach is collaborative, attuned, and grounded in both evidence-based science and the nuanced understanding that comes from three decades of integrative practice. My work with clients are who value emotional processing, authenticity, and are ready for transformation that touches every dimension of their lives.

personal

I was raised in a family of longstanding prominence in pre-Revolution Iran. That experience of going from the pinnacle of society to starting over taught me something invaluable: the difference between your family legacy, what you build and who you are. Growing up in that rarefied world, then rebuilding inside and outside of it, gave me a unique vantage point. I understand the culture intimately—the unspoken rules, the performance pressure, the way wealth and legacy shape family dynamics and identity. I work with prominent families, founders, creatives, engineers and executives because I feel comfortable and can understand what many often cannot.

I value authenticity, humor, courage and curiosity – in myself and in my clients. Through a professional relationship based on mutual trust and respect, we’ll empower you to move forward with more joy, confidence, and resilience.

Nicole was also very personable and easy to talk to, so it was effortless to connect with her.
