In our work together, I help individuals and couples reconnect with what feels most authentic—your needs, desires, values, and strengths—so you can express these parts of yourself with greater clarity and ease. Whether you’re seeking a deeper connection with yourself or with a partner, therapy can help uncover what gets in the way of feeling secure, understood, and emotionally fulfilled. As you strengthen your relationship with yourself and those you care about, you may notice relief from anxiety, depression, and stress, along with a greater sense of confidence, intimacy, and balance in your life.

I am an interpersonal relationship expert and psychotherapist who works at the intersection of achievement and authenticity. Regardless of their background, the majority of my clients are highly intelligent and accomplished individuals and couples who are interested in cultivating relational and emotional intelligent skills needed to take their personal and professional relationships to the next step, beginning with themselves.

areas of specialization

I specialize in the intersection of trauma, attachment, and intimate relationships, guiding individuals and couples to heal emotional wounds and reconnect with themselves and each other. My approach draws from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and somatic-based methods that reconnect the mind and body. For the last few decades, I have been very interested in the science of human connection, living authentically, mindfulness and healing.

I enjoy learning and integrating multiple advanced certifications:

  • EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Consultant in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

  • ICEEFT Certified Therapist and Supervisor Candidate in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and Individuals

  • PhD in Human Sexuality and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist

  • PSI Certified Maternal Mental Health Therapist

  • Happiness Coach - currently in certification training

  • Advanced training in Deep Brain Reorientation, Internal Family Systems, Nonviolent Communication, certified grief therapist and sophisticated somatic modalities

Upon Request - I offer integrative practices including yoga, meditation, energy work, and breathwork to complement your therapeutic journey. I’ve been deeply involved in and teaching for almost thirty years. Together, we can design a personalized as needed or daily practice that supports your unique healing process.

I hold a rare integration of trauma therapy, couples therapy, and sex therapy expertise along with meditation practices—combined with deep understanding of neuroscience and attachment—allows me to address the interconnected nature of mind, body, spirit and relationships in ways few practitioners can.

I’ve held a thirty-five year dedicated sadhana meditation practice as a kundalini yoga teacher, regular vipassana retreat attender and other yoga/meditation practices. I’ve been studying sexuality for the last twenty years with teachers such as Regina Thomestuer, Bodansky’s at Moore Institute, Nicole Deadon among others. This integration of neuroscience-informed modalities with embodied awareness creates a therapeutic approach that is both intellectually rigorous and somatically grounded.

background

My PhD is in Human Sexuality where my dissertation research focused on the forgiveness process for married women who meditate. I earned an MA in Clinical Counseling from New York University, with additional certification from NYU's Transdisciplinary Violence and Trauma Studies Program, where I trained under renowned psychologist Carol Gilligan, PhD.

As a visiting scholar at Tel Aviv University, I conducted grant-funded research examining women with Eastern-Western hyphenated identities, their sexual development, and relationships, publishing work using The Listening Guide methodology. My research has spanned NYU, Veterans Affairs in Palo Alto, Tel Aviv University, and institutes across Israel.

I completed training at Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy’s Trauma Studies program and a fellowship at San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute. I serve on the staff training team at Sonoma Psychotherapy Training Institute. From 2020-2024, I served on the Board of Directors for the Northern California Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy (NCCEFT) and maintain an active consultation practice for mental health professionals seeking advanced training in EMDR and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.

Prior to private practice, I introduced integrative approaches in reproductive medicine at a New York City fertility and endocrinology center, introducing holistic modalities into conventional medical settings. I was trained in Ayurveda by Dr. Bhaswati Bhattacharya and Dr. Vasant Lad. I founded Radiant Living Wellness, a women's natural health center in New York City, integrating functional nutrition, yoga, and meditation for comprehensive care. I have been teaching meditation and yoga for thirty years nationally and in Israel, particularly Kundalini. I spent a few years assisting in opening and running a beloved meditation and yoga space in NYC - Hari NYC.

philosophy of care

My work is grounded in the belief that wholeness emerges through connection, not correction. I specialize in helping high-performing individuals and couples navigate the gap between external achievement and internal coherence—addressing not just symptoms, but the deeper patterns that shape how clients think, feel, relate, and experience intimacy with themselves, partner and family.

My approach is collaborative, attuned, and grounded in both evidence-based science and the nuanced understanding that comes from three decades of integrative practice. My work with clients are who value emotional processing, authenticity, and are ready for transformation that touches every dimension of their lives.

I value authenticity, humor, courage and curiosity – in myself and in my clients. Through a professional relationship based on mutual trust and respect, we’ll empower you to move forward with more joy, confidence, and resilience.

  • “We were so pleased to have worked with Nicole on our marital journey and issues. Nicole was extremely professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, attentive, articulate, and especially intuitive to our feelings. She was able to interpret our thoughts and how we were feeling when we were not able to express and articulate them for ourselves - this was what especially impressed us the most about her professional skills. Nicole was also very personable and easy to talk to, so it was effortless to connect with her. Nicole's intelligence and deliberate thought process truly helped us work through our communication issues and her analytical feedback was invaluable to us. It was an absolute comforting pleasure to have worked with Nicole and we would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone who is seeking thoughtful and mindful therapy and healing."

  • Nicole was instrumental in helping my partner and I strengthen our relationship and overcome a major hurdle in our partnership. My partner and I have fewer conflicts now and are happier in our relationship. I appreciated Nicole's persistence with us, as it helped me remain hopeful that my relationship could change for the better. Thank you Nicole!

    - Former Client

  • Nicole is by far the best therapist I have ever worked with. She helped me navigate through a rocky relationship, breakup, and the near death of my father. With our sessions, I learned what healthy relationships look like, how to better communicate, and I am now the happiest I've been in my life and am in an incredibly healthy relationship. Nicole's style is not to impose an opinion, but to guide you to heightened enlightenment through questions which delve deeper into the issues. We also focused on cognitive behavioral therapy which proactively addressed the core reoccurring issues of body image and familial issues. I became more confident in myself and confident in being able to approach new situations as a direct result of our work. I appreciated the homework she would assign as well, which helped me become more self aware of my triggers and more thoughtful on addressing them in the moment. If you want someone who is thoughtful, empathetic, knowledgeable and literally the best- go to Nicole.
