Diamond Mind

Our experience in life is largely framed as a projection of our mind. Whether we believe a situation or a person is harmful, difficult, ugly and whimsical is a result of our mental appraisal. Everything is our mental outlook. It is helpful to see things through three minds: negative mind, neutral mind, and positive mind. The negative mind is usually the first response and our protective filter asking, “How can this harm me? How can this limit or stop me?” The positive mind asks, “What’s good here?” This mind helps you see opportunities, resources and benefits. The neutral mind points us to: “Given all that, who am I here and what do I do?” This brings forth more of the intuitive and non-reactive thought process that could have a firmer inner guidance.

The shadow material is usually what the mind rejects because it conflicts with our self image. A way to correct these cycles of inner rejections is with love (self-caring, support and encouragement), not more judgment. Love also includes discerning and confronting the way we reject ourselves and then project it out to the world. When we deepen our connection to the shadow, we can see how we are out of alignment with ourselves and release outdated beliefs to then feel stronger and capable of doing more in this world. The challenges in life are much easier to work through.
