Attunement

There is a clear distinction between attunement and empathic overload. When we feel overwhelmed, nosy about others’ emotions, and dive into drama, it leaves us reactive and stepping away from connection with ourselves. Attunement is something different. It is positioning yourself as an Observer: fully present yet separate behind a protective "glass wall," witnessing without internalizing. It is also steady compassion without collapsing, so you stay more in your own space and invite co-regulation rather than fusion. Connected but differentiated—you mirror without mirroring their dysregulation. This builds intimacy with clarity, rather than fusion—allowing another to be seen while you remain an anchor.
